Or...it could refer to how your overall test program, environments, etc. are structured. In the latter, there would be some equivalency between the two terms.

A test architecture, just like any type of architecture, has many dependencies such as the technologies involved, the development process in use, tools and associated approaches, people and culture, the release process, and environments. There are more, but that's a start.

I like the "workbench" approach as a starting point. In the workbench, you define inputs, procedures, entry and exit criteria, tools, standards and metrics. Here is a paper that describes the workbench, which by the way, was taught in Japan in 1949 by Dr. Deming. http://www.simalytic.com/SHARE85/1851.PDF

Another good resource for architectural thinking is John Zachman's web site. Here is one article in particular: https://www.zachman.com/resources/ea-articles-reference/327-the-framework-for-enterprise-architecture-background-description-and-utility-by-john-a-zachman.

Thanks for the question and I hope this helps!Randy Ricehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17967655042475308182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24100580.post-8902216042477993502016-07-11T23:38:08.312-05:002016-07-11T23:38:08.312-05:00When you say "Test Framework", does that...When you say "Test Framework", does that equal to a "Test Architecture"?
Where should one start looking at in order to develop a "Test Arhitecture"?
